  : The location was really great. Bedroom was in a nice spot overlooking the canals. The friendly owner was helpful and accommodating. Checking in was easy. The owner was nice and let us stay an extra 10 minutes after we were meant to leave. The breakfast basket was lovely with a very nice selection of breakfast foods. Useful to have a safe in the room for passports. Location felt safe for me and my daughter who were travelling alone. Bedding, towels etc very clean, replaced daily and fresh. The bed was very comfy. Overall we were happy with this booking. I hope the owner will not take offence at some of the practicalities I have mentioned here that were not so positive, as they are fairly minor in the grand scheme. He was a great host.
  : The kettle provided had such a short lead that you had to have it turned on by placing the kettle either on the floor !? (I got down on my hands and knees to plug it in on the carpet, which felt like a comedy sketch) .... or the alternative was to put it on a bedside table that already had a little lamp hanging over it so not appropriate either !? or the final option was to move the little bureau and chairs, so effectively rearrange the room to use it.... not very well thought out.The plug sockets by the bedside were placed just an inch too close to the bedside table, so again, you had to move the little table out to plug in your phone to charge if you needed it next to you, which was another little thing that was just slightly awkward. Simple things to resolve by making a couple of room layout tweaks or using different furniture perhaps? And if you are going to put a kettle in a room - having some practical place for it to boil is a must!
